WordCreator
WordCreator
In this section you will find an explanation of the functionality of the classic word creator. For an overview of the other components of the software, see the
help section, an explanation of all functions in detail you can get under the topic
functions.
Your first Word
The WordCreator makes it possible for you to make coincidental words from predefined syllables. Start the program and click on "Create!" on the bottom side of the window. According to that the created words appear in the box on the right side. If you immediately click on "Create!" after starting the tool, the standard settings are active. This means that altogether six readable words are made of three syllables each with frequencies from the English linguistic area. Of course you also can change this settings.
Length and Number of Words
If you would like to change the length and the number of the words created at the the same time, there are two boxes on the left above for you. In the first box you can freely adjust or select the syllable length of the words and the same applies to the number of words made at the same time by the box under this.
If you would like to fix the length of the words by chance, then you can activate this function under "Settings" > "Random Length". This chance moves between the maximum adjusted in the main window and the minimum adjusted in the menu "Settings" > "Modify Settings".
Used Syllables
The frequencies of the letters and syllables are regarded from the English linguistic area as a standard setting . In addition, you still find the frequencies from the German linguistic area which can select in the menu "Lists". You can put back on the English Syllable List here again, too.
If you want to use lists of your own, you simply can change the box on the left by listing a number and the syllable or the letter in a line respectively. These two must be separated by a blank. The sum of all numbers together or the length of the string or the number does not make any difference. Important ist, that syllables with great numbers appears with a high frequency in your words. As an example you can delete the box completely and only write two lines in it: " 2 A" and "1 BI". In this case words would be formed from "A" and "BI" in which "A" happens twice as frequent as "BI".
As syllables everything can be found on the keyboard is possible: Single letters, short or long syllables, special signs or even whole sentences and
Unicode characters are supported. No limits for your phantasy! Even a line skip can be weighted with a certain frequency. You activate this function under "Settings" > "Sign for Line Jump" and under "Settings" > "Modify Settings" you can define which sign or word it should be. The sign "%" is predefined, however, you also can use a sign of your own or a short word for it. After that you can simply write into your Syllable List the following: "243 %". This would cause a line skip with these probability when you are creating words.
Furthermore in the menu "lists" there are some other functions at your disposal. For example you can load or save a Syllable List here. This list should ideally be a simple text file (*.txt).
Readable Words
The tool predefinedly creates only words which are readable. For example a "B" cannot followed by "C". Of course it is required, that there are enough syllables or letters in the left box to achieve that. If you would like to allow other words which are not readable, too, you can deactivate the option in "tool" > "only readable words". In the current version, the WordCreator supports the character of the Latin, the Greek, the Cyrillic and the Georgic alphabet.
Of course it is also possible to make own rules besides the rules which are predefined to adjust which syllable or letter may follow which syllable or letter. You can carry out this settings under "Settings" > "Modify Settings..". Here it is possible to use the Standard Rules or to define own ones. Each of these rules must be in a single line and follows the following syntax: Syllable1>Syllable2. These two syllables can be arbitrarily long, but keep in mind that there are no other letters behind or infront of the ">", because otherwise, these letters would also become part of the syllable. Even blanks can be defined as a rule. In any case you have to pay attention that none of your rules leads emptiness. In other words: That every rule finds it corresponding in the Syllable List or that there is a way from the Syllable List to a rule and from this rule back to the Syllable List. Otherwise no words can be produced.
In addition, the function "Take Care of Capitalization and Use of Small Letters" can be activated or deactivated under the box. If it is activated, the rule "A>B" really only applies to A and B. Deactivated, this rule applies to A, B, a and b.
Output
After clicking "Create!", your words appear in the box on the right. The words are created with the attitudes (length, number and syllables used) and can be stored over "lists" > "save word list". It is also possible to delete the word list by using this menu, if it has got too long or you would like to start from the beginning.
The words can be written either under each other or besides each other. This can be adjusted under "Settings" > "Write Side by Side". If you want to use a special character for seperation of your words, go to "Settings" > "Modify Settings..". A blank is predefined.
