- Settings >Add Files to the List: Select this option to add files to your file list when searching in folders or using drag and drop to add files to your list. If you disable this function, it is possible, for example, to search in folders and to add only the names of the folders to your list, if the option "Add Names of Folders to the List" is enabled.
- Settings > Add Names of Folders to the List: With this function, you can choose whether you want to allow folders in your file list. So, it is also possible to create lists of folders with the Filelist Creator. If you enable this option and disable the function "Add Files to List", also folders will be added to your list. If you enable both, folders and files, both, folders and files will be added to your list.
- Settings > Add Files and Folders not twice: Here you can decide, whether a file which has already been added to the file list, can be added to the list for another time. If this function is activated, everytime adding a new file, the whole list will be searched for this file and the file will only be added to the list, if it is not yet added. If this function is disabled, the files will be added to the list without checking, so that it is possible to add files for more than one time. Of course, adding is faster without checking the list, so that this function is deactivated by default.
- Settings > Output Settings: When you click on this entry, a new window opens, where you can adjust the output settings.
- Settings > Output Settings > Export as Image: The top section deals with an output as an image. Here you can specify which font (font size, italic, bold,...) and which colors should be used when saving the file list as a picture.
- Settings > Output Settings > Export as CSV: In this area, you can set all options regarding an export as CSV file. You can set arbitrary characters as a separator between the values (normally, people are using "," or ";") and you can choose whether there should be a line break at the end of each line. If you enter a character in the box "Surround values with", the values of the CSV-file will be surrounded with this character. Normally, people are using " or ' for this. In addition, you can enter another character for the end of each line. With this, you can use other characters than line breaks for a break of a line. In all boxes, you can use %tab% for a tab. Furthermore, you can leave all boxes blank to use no character at this point.
- Settings > Output Settings > Coding of Text Files: These settings apply to a saving as a text file, CSV file or HTML document. Here it is possible to specify the encoding of the file. You can select multiple Unicode formats and the normal ANSI text format. For more about the file formats, see File Formats.
- Settings > Filter for Search in Folder..: Opens the filter for the search in folders. It is either possible to search for all supported formats, or to make a selection of specific formats. The list can be adjusted and changed individually. Please not to seperate your file extensions by comma and do not use blanks between them.
- Settings > File Times with Daylight Saving Correction: During summertime, under circumstances, the file times differ by one hour from the correct times. If this option is activated, the file times will be increased by one hour during Daylight Saving Time to prevent this error.
- Settings > Activate/Deactivate Preview (F7): Enables or disables the preview. When enabled, every change in the settings is displayed directly in the preview window, so that you can see how the table looks like with this options.
- Settings > Shortcuts with Files and Folders: In this menu, it is possible to create or remove shortcuts with the program. It is possible to register configuration files (*.fkg) with the program, so that it is possible to click on a configuration and the Filelist Creator is opened with this settings. Furthermore, you can create shortcuts with files, folders or in the "Send to" menu, so that it is possible to create file lists with a simple right click on arbitrary files and folders or to add files to the current list. More about this topic, you can read on the page shortcuts, where all of these things are explained in detail. It should be noted that the program should not be moved, otherwise the link does not work. Of course, you can move the program at any time to link the files again after moving.
- Settings > Language: Changes the language of the program.
- View: In this menu you can find all areas of the main window (input, preview, columns, and design and storage options). From here you can choose whether the areas should be visible or not. Simply select or clear the appropriate menu item. Alternatively, the upper right small crosses in each area can be used to minimize the corresponding area and the areas can be maximized with the small buttons on the left below of the main window.
- Configuration > Save current Configuration: Saves the current configuration to one file. That means, that all values in the boxes, the selected actions and saving options, filters and everything else is stored. This file has the extension *.fkg and can be reloaded at any time. In the menu (Settings > Shortcuts to Files and Folders) it is possible to link these files with the program, so that you only have to click on a configuration file to open the Filelist Creator with the appropriate settings.
- Configuration > Save current Configuration as Start Configuration (auto.fkg): When the program starts, first it searches for the file auto.fkg in the program folder. If this file exists, the configuration settings of this file will be set automatically at startup, without a explicit selection of this file. This function saves the current configuration of the program in the file auto.fkg, so that this configuration is automatically opened when you start.
- Configuration > Save Profile: As well as saving as a configuration, which means that all settings of the program will be saved, including the window size and other similar things, it is also possible to save as a profile. This means that only a few selected settings are saved, which you can set in the window opening after clicking on this menu item. The advantage of this storage is also assumed that only the selected options are loaded. Thus, the function can for example be used to load multiple profiles at the same time that do not influence each other.
- Configuration > Load Configuration or Profile (CTRL+K): Loads a saved configuration or a saved profile from your hard drive. This allows you, to restore an old configuration.
- Configuration > Auto Save Settings on Exit: Here you can decide, whether you want to save the last settings of the Filelist Creator on exit, so that the tool can start with your prefered settings when starting the next time. You can select "Never" to save no settings (no file is created), "Save all" to save all of your settings including the windowstate (file auto.fkg is created) or "Save Profile" to save only some of the settings. In the menu "Configuration > Save Profile" you can select the settings, that should be saved.
- Configuration > Reset all Settings (F2): Sets the default configuration, like it was at the delivery of the program. This means that the standard columns are selected and everything is at default. All of your user defined settings will be cleared.
- Configuration > Load Start Configuration (auto.fkg) if possible (F3): If a startup configuration file exists (auto.fkg in the program folder), this file is loaded with this function.
- Configuration > File Names: In the menu you can find all recently saved or loaded configuration files, which can be selected directly. In addition, the program searches for configuration files in the program folder and its sub folders at startup, so that these files also occur at this point and can be accessed easily.
- Other Software: Provides information on the other software by Stefan Trost Media, which you can get on sttmedia.com. Click on an entry to open the corresponding website of the software.
- Information (F1): On the one hand, here you can get some help, a short introduction to the program and information about the license and functionality. On the other hand, this menu is the key to the online section of this application.
