Here you can find the help for the current version.

Your first Print-Out

PrintMyFonts makes it possible for you to list and to print all fonts installed on your computer or to do the same with fonts from font files, which are not installed. Simply start the program and press the button "Export" on the window on the right down. That is your first printout! Predefinedly printed is the name of the font and a predefined sentence with every font numbered. However, you also can change these settings of course. For example, you can export the list as PDF or image file by selecting this in the printers list at the right bottom of the main window.

Settings

The sentence, the letters or the words which are printed in every single font, you can find on the right below. Some sentences are predefined here, from which you can chose, however, you also can write your own sentence into this box of course. The other attitudes you can change with "Advanced Settings" in the menu "Tool". Her you can adjust the type size for example or whether the output shall be in italics or bold. Or you can fix the distances from the borders of the page, you can chose wheter the name of the font is mentioned and if there should be a number in front of every line.

Alternative printer and output as PDF

Also on the left below you can find a box where you can adjust an alternative printer. All printers of your machine are listed here. In combination with the free PDFCreator, here arises another possibility: You can get a PDF output file!

Font List as Word Document or Image File

Also an output of your font list as image file in the formats JPG, BMP or GIF or an output as Microsoft Word® Document (for example as DOC or DOCX) is possible without problems. Simply select one of this output formats in the drop down menu "Printer or other Output format" and click on export after that like usual. Please note that Microsoft Word® has to be installed if you want to use the output as Word® document.

Editing the font list and preview

In many cases, you would not like to have printed all your fonts available. For example you only want to compare some of them with a few words. Simply click on the list and press "DEL" to delete several fonts. Of course they are not deleted by your system but only by the list. If you want to have them back, go to "Font List" > "Load Fonts" and they will appear in your list for another time. As a preview the box on the right helps saving paper and not to print any font you do not like. Here you can type a sentence to see what is it look like in the use of several fonts.

Show fonts that are not installed

Predefined, only the fonts installed on your computer are shown in the fonts list, but you can also search arbitrary folders for other fonts, which are not installed, to show them in the tool. The folder you can select on the right side of the main window by clicking the button "Open". After that, you should activate the option "Show Fonts from this Folder or Drive" over this, so that the fonts from this folder will be shown in the list, so that you can use them like any other font in the tool. If you want to show only these not installed fonts, you can deactivate the option "Show installed System Fonts". Then only the fonts from this folder will be shown.

Installation

First you should download the program from the download page. The file is packed into a ZIP archive that you normally should be able to unpack with your computer. If you can not open the file, we recommend the free program 7-Zip which also can handle many other files. You can download this software from the page 7-zip.org for free.

After you have unpacked the program, you can already use it. An installation is not required. If you nevertheless would like to make a shortcut for the program, simply click with the right mouse button on the icon and choose "make shortcut". You can move this shortcut to an arbitrary place on your computer.

Language

This application is offered in several languages. If the program is already supporting the language of your operating system, it will try to start with this language. You can also change and save your preferred language under "Settings > Language" every time during runtime.

An overview of all supported languages can be found on the download page. If your language is not already supported, you can gladly participate in the translation.
