WordCreator

Installation

On this page you will learn everything about downloading, installing and uninstalling the WordCreator.

Supported Operating Systems

The WordCreator is currently available in versions for the following three operating systems:

Download

First, download the program from the download page. On this page you will find the downloads for Windows, Linux and macOS. The program file is packed into a ZIP archive, which you should usually be able to unpack with your computer without additional software.

If you can not open the archive, we recommend the free program 7-Zip, which can handle ZIP files as well as many other archive formats. You can download 7-Zip for free from the page 7-zip.org. We recommend unpacking the program file before using the WordCreator and not starting the program from the ZIP archive.

Installation on Windows or macOS

After unzipping the program file, you can already use the WordCreator. Because the WordCreator is a portable program, an installation is not required. Just click on the program file to start the WordCreator.

You can save the program file in any folder on your computer, the program even runs from a USB stick or an external hard disk. If you want to use multiple versions of the WordCreator in parallel (for example, with different configurations), you can simply copy each version of the program to a different folder.

If you still want to create a shortcut to the application, just right-click on the program file and then select "Create Shortcut" from the context menu (or "Create Alias" under macOS). You can move this shortcut to any location on your computer and use it to access the WordCreator from there.

Installation on Linux

For Linux we offer three different program versions on the download page. You get the WordCreator as Debian package, RPM package and as portable binary.

If you would like to manage the installation of the WordCreator through your Linux Software Manager, you should download the Debian package or the RPM package. Depending on which Linux distribution and which package management you use, another package comes into question for you. For example, you typically need the Debian package for Ubuntu, Kubuntu, Xubuntu, Debian, or Mint while you need the RPM package for Fedora, CentOS, Mageia, Mandriva, openSUSE, or Red Hat Enterprise Linux, for example.

If you want to use the WordCreator as a portable program, you will need the Portable Binary. The Portable Binary can be used independently of your software manager and requires no installation. So, you can also run several versions of the WordCreator in parallel (for example, with different configurations). You may need to mark the program file as executable before using it, so that you can run it.

Uninstallation

Since the WordCreator is a portable program, the WordCreator does not dig deep into your operating system. Therefore, it is usually sufficient to simply delete the program file to completely remove the entire installation of the program from your computer.

If you have saved settings on your computer, you can delete them before deleting the program via the menu "Settings > Save or load settings". In this menu you will find under "Delete Settings" the button "Delete". This button permanently deletes all configurations and settings that the WordCreator has stored on your computer.

If you have used a software manager on Linux to install the WordCreator, please also run the software manager again to remove the software and follow the steps to uninstall programs.
