Information

This is the help page of the different Counters that were part of the old version of the WordCreator. You can still download this old version on the download page, but we recommend using the newest version of the program.

In the newer versions, there is only one counter for all areas of application, which has full Unicode support and can be configured in the settings whether single characters, real syllables of character combinations should be counted. This made the specific counters introduced on this page no longer necessary. Here you can get information about the new counter.

Some other interesting features arise from the counters that are built into the Word Creator and can be accessed all over the menu item "Tools". There are four different types of counters, which can be used for different purposes. All meters in common is that any text can be counted, and the counter creates profiles of frequencies of the letters and syllables, which can be used not only in the Word Creator itself but also as a output list in form of a text file or an HTML document.

Character Counter

The Character Counter makes it easy to count simple characters and letters with lots of special settings, which is only possible, because only normal ANSI characters can be counted. For normal applications like counting English texts, the Character Counter is sufficient, if you would like to count other characters, too, you should use the Counter for Unicode Characters. Syllable Counter for Di- and Trigrams

The Syllable Counter for Di- and Trigrams can be used to count syllables consisting of two or three characters, regardless of their readability. Again, this counter can only deal with the ANSI characters and otherwise the Unicode Counter must be used instead. Syllable Counter for real Syllables

The Syllable Counter for real Syllables counts the real syllables of a text, regardless of their length. For this purpose a special algorithm is used, which may not result to the desired results in all languages. The Syllable Counter for real Syllables can additionally deal with Unicode. [more..]

Unicode Counter

If you want to include any special characters, punctuation marks or other Unicode characters such as Cyrillic, Chinese, Greek and other characters of a text to your result, the Unicode Counter is the right choice for you. Simply, letters and di- and trigrams can be counted. [more..]
