On this page you will find an overview of all menu items of the WordCreator with an explanation of the respective function. An explanation of the functions of other program parts of the WordCreator can be found in the function overview.
- File > Create / Count (CTRL+N): With this function, in the creator you can create new words according to your current settings. In the counter, this function recounts the text that is currently in the field "Input" according to your current settings.
- File > Load Syllable List / Load Input (CTRL+O): Shows a open file dialog that allows you to load a syllable list in the creator respectively to select a file in the counter, which will then be loaded into the "Input" field for counting.
- File > Save Result as (CTRL+S): Saves the result as a file. You can save the result of the creator (the last generated random words) as a text file (TXT) as well as a DOCX, ODT or RTF document. The result of the counter can be saved as a text file (TXT) as well as in the formats CSV, XLSX, ODS, DIF and HTML. The text files can be opened with any text editor, while the DOCX and XLSX formats are, for example, suitable for Microsoft Office and the ODT and ODS formats are suitable, for example, for LibreOffice or OpenOffice. In the menu "Settings > Storage Format" you will find the settings regarding the storage such as options for the encoding used for the text files or the structure of the CSV files.
- File > Copy Result to Clipboard (as Text) (SHIFT+CTRL+C): Copies the result of the creator (the last generated random words) respectively the last result of the counter as text to the clipboard.
- File > Copy Result to Clipboard as Table (CTRL+ALT+C): Copies the last result of the counter to the clipboard as a table so that you can paste the content, for example, directly into a spreadsheet program such as Microsoft Excel or OpenOffice/LibreOffice Calc.
- File > Use Result as Syllable List (SHIFT+CTRL+L): Loads the last result of the counter as syllable list into the creator. So, it is possible to create new random words from the result.
- File > Clear Input (CTRL+W): Deletes the counter's text to be counted from the text box "Input".
- File > Clear Result (CTRL+DEL): Deletes the last generated random words of the creator respectively the last result of the counter.
- File > Exit (ESC): Terminates the entire program WordCreator.
- Settings > General / Creator / Syllable List / Counter / Counter Characters / Counter Output / Storage Format: These settings of the creator as well as of the counter are explained on the page settings.
- Settings > System Integration / File Associations: Here you can find some settings for linking files with the WordCreator or for configuring the Auto Start settings. You can find more information about that in the help section about System Integration.
- Settings > Language Settings: Opens the language settings to change and save the language of the program.
- Settings > Save or Load Settings: Here you can find the storage options as well as ways to save, load and delete settings. See the Introduction to Settings for an explanation.
- Settings > Reset Settings: Resets all settings to the default settings.
- Syllable Lists > Load: Possibility to load a syllable list that is stored on your computer. Alternatively, it is also possible to just copy the list into the appropriate field or to create a random list.
- Syllable Lists > Save: Saves the current syllable list as a file on your computer.
- Syllable Lists > Clear: Clears the current syllable list.
- Syllable Lists > Syllable Lists from Languages: We have created some frequency profiles for letters and syllables from different languages. At this point, they are deposited in the program and they can be loaded as syllable list. Just click on the corresponding language in order to load the syllables.
- Syllable Lists > Random Lists: Here you have the possibility to create random syllable lists. Depending on the menu item you choose, you can create random lists from digits, Latin letters, Cyrillic letters, Greek letters or Georgic letters. In the settings you can specify whether only individual letters and/or syllables consisting of several letters should be generated.
- Syllable Lists > Random List Latin Letters (A-Z): Creates a random syllable list from the Latin letters A to Z.
- Syllable Lists > Random List Latin including Ä, Ü, Ö and ß: Creates a random syllable list from the Latin letters A to Z including the letters Ä, Ü, Ö and ß, so all letters from the German alphabet.
- Syllable Lists > Random List Cyrillic Letters (А-Ц): Creates a random syllable list from the Cyrillic letters А to Ц.
- Syllable Lists > Random List Greek Letters (Α-Ω): Creates a random syllable list from the Greek letters Α to Ω.
- Syllable Lists > Random List Georgic Letters (ა-ჰ): Creates a random syllable list from the Georgic letters ა to ჰ.
- Syllable Lists > Random List Digits (0-9): Creates a random syllable list from the digits 0 to 9.
- Syllable Lists > Random List Numbers (from X to Y): After entering a range of numbers from number X to number Y in the format "X-Y", this function creates a random syllable list from the numbers in question. For example, entering "9-13" would create a syllable list with the five syllables "9", "10", "11", "12" and "13" in which these syllables are given random frequencies.
- Syllable Lists > Custom Random List: With the custom random lists, you are able to create a random syllable list out of a predefined set of characters. You can predefine the characters to be used in the settings and you can also change them before creation.
- Syllable Lists > Syllable List Settings: Opens the settings regarding the creation and adding of syllable lists. More about that in the function list of the syllable lists settings.
- Software: In this menu you will find information about other software from Stefan Trost Media. To open one of the links you can click on the respective menu item.
- Info & Help: Over this menu, you can access a short introduction to the WordCreator and get information about the license, contact options as well as important links and background information around the software.
